The Lorn and Mill cottages are located on the South East shores of Loch Lomond in a secluded and unique area of farmland and woods . The property is set in its own 10 acres within the National Park, and is part of an old country estate. With possibly the best views of Loch Lomond , The Lorn has a 20 mile vista of the Loch, islands and Ben Lomond to the north and the Arrochar Alps to the west. You will never forget this breath taking view of the Bonnie Banks. Access is by a farm road approximately a mile long leading you to the The Lorn Mill Cottages. From the property, a peacefull walk through woodland and field leads you to the Loch shore.

You will see wild geese in winter, roe deer and any amount of local wild life all year round.

Despite the properties secluded and peaceful setting the Lorn Mill Cottages are the perfect base for visiting some of Scotland's finest landmarks and scenery. The historic cities of Glasgow, Edinburgh and Stirling with their art galleries, castles, restuarant and excellant shopping are easily reached by road or rail.

Drive north through stunning scenery to Glen Coe and Fort William, or west to Loch Fyne with its famous Oyster Bar, Inverary and Oban. The Glengoyne Distillery is only 20 minutes away.

Activities...

Loch Lomond itself offers peace and tranquillity among the islands. Boat trips are available in nearby Balloch or Balmaha. Alternatively you can hire a boat or take the mail boat around the islands. Guests own boats can be launched at the free public slipway in Balloch. Fishing permits and boats are available locally. Climb Ben Lomond and enjoy the panoramic, unforgetable views.

For golfers, the area has many superb municipal coarses including The Carrick Golf Course on the west side of Loch Lomond( 15 minutes away) and offers championship facilities on a pay-as-you-go basis. For enthusiasts wishing to spectate at the Loch Lomond International Golf Championships in July, the course is just 20 minutes away.
