The Lorn Mill is in the heart of the National Park. Tucked away down a wooded drive the property is set within its own 10 acres in a private country estate overlooking Loch Lomond. It is heaven for artists, photographers and birdwatchers.
The property dates back to the 18th century and was once a busy working farm, the mill wheel last turning in the 1950s. The mill pond is now home to domestic geese and ducks, mallard and heron. The owners have lived here for 30 years and lovingly restored and upgraded the property whilst still retaining its traditional charm.. The 2 pretty cottages provide a truly relaxing retreat – guests return again and again to the Lorn Mill because of its unique location and superb accommodation.
Enjoy peaceful walks with outstanding scenery straight from your cottage – the magnificent mountain backdrop with Ben Lomond and the Loch’s beautiful islands will be a lasting memory. Primroses, bluebells, jewel coloured heather, golden autumn leaves, frosty tracks – in all seasons the walks area a joy. Look out for deer, red squirrels and hawks along the way.
The colourful and rambling garden is also the perfect setting to soak up the magical views. Relax with a long drink and watch the many stunning sunsets settle over the mountains. Have fun on the tennis court, your audience will be sheep and lambs, or stroll down through woodland and field with a picnic to the Lochside beach.
