About The Lorn

the pondGavin and Claire MacLellan have lived at The Lorn since 1989. With their children Archie and Harvey, family dogs Oscar and Louis and pet geese they have lovingly restored and upgraded the property to bring out its best, yet at the same time retaining its traditional charm. The property, once a working farm, dates back to the 18th century with the mill wheel last in use in the 1950s. The mill pond is now home to domestic geese, wild ducks and heron.

The Setting ...

Set in a slight hollow and sheltered from the winds the MacLellans have created a colourful, rambling and beautiful garden whatever the season which guests are welcome to enjoy. It is the perfect setting to soak up the views. Enjoy crisp and frosty days in the winter or long warm evenings in the summer watching the sun set over the mountains. There is plenty of space for quiet walks through the trees, strolls down to the Loch shore and barbeques in your own chosen spot.

Guests return again and again to the Lorn Mill because of its unique situation and unforgetable scenery
